As we celebrate this Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church is in need of her maternal intercession. This has been a difficult time for the pope and bishops. Many have grown impatient during recent months as reports and information has been released about the extremely serious nature of the abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. As a lay theologian, and teacher, I am starting this blog to help me better understand all that is happening during these times. I am also hoping to encourage others who have similar concerns. Many of my reflections will be rooted in Scripture and the writings of Church Fathers, Doctors and great theologians of our time. Please continue to visit this blog and share as you are led.

“Let us keep our eyes focused on Jesus, the founder of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
